About Me

Hello, my name is Amanda.

My go-to social media profile photo
Hi everyone! I'm Amanda and I run Acepages Books blog, AcePages Instagram, AcePages Twitter, and whatever I end up wanting to do in the future.

I am... 22? *clears throat* yeah I am in my 20's we will go with that. I am currently a student at the University of Oklahoma studying computer engineering as well as working two jobs. I obviously love reading and to break up the stress my scholastic life puts on me I decided to start running a bookstagram February 2018 and that hobby has grown and branched out in ways I never thought would happen.

I live with my SO who is also a book worm and together we have built one hell of a library. We have two adorable cats, Penny & Winry, who I can talk about all day so feel free to ask me about them at your own risk. I'll post a little about them below.

There isn't much else to me really. I like video games (especially VR), movies, music, anything that lets me be at home really. If you want to know more about me just ask!

The Four-legged Monsters

Here are my tiny cats! Penny is my grey torbie and Winry is the little calico. They are both x-small DSH cats and were runts of their litter.

Penny has been through a lot. We adopted her when she was 4 months old and she wasn't really planned. I had gone through the worst semester and it put me in a really dark place. I had always wanted a cat so thought about going to see this tortie for adoption near me. When I got there she was in a crate with her sister and brother and was FULL of energy. I decided a high energy kitty wasn't the right move for me since I was still in school but then I looked up and there in a hammock was this super cute tiny, grey, baby curled up. I pet her head and she started licking me... and that was it. My SO and I were talking about if we could do it or not if it was the right move or not, but the thought of not having her made me burst into tears. We went back to pick her up that same day and she had gotten down from the hammock and lifted her little arms as we opened the carrier, like she knew we were back for her. She was 4 months old then. She became my certified ESA right after and we both suffered separation anxiety. When I say Penny is attached to me I mean it, no words can explain how attached.
Penny, the high maintenance one

Do to that separation anxiety we started thinking that maybe we needed to get Penny a friend. So the search for cat number 2 was underway. That is when I found Winry. I found her and met her and she was a perfect personality... but sadly right when we wanted to get Winry, Penny fell very ill. She spent days in the ICU and it took us roughly a month to even get her back to her health... but she was never really herself again. She now hates people other than me and my SO. That made us pretty nervous but I couldn't leave Winry when she had already gone 6 months unadopted. So we took the risk. We got Winry.
Winry, the blanket thief

Winry, my mustached weirdo, barely survived due to a horrible upper respiratory infection she got when she was around four months old. She was described as a timid girl who wasn't really an affectionate cat. THAT IS NOT WHAT WE GOT. We got an amazingly weird sweet girl who DEMANDS to be able to sit on my lap whenever I am home and loves to play. She is super freaking weird too... trust me. Super weird.
We got to name Winry, she is from a character from Fullmetal Alchemist and it is a really good fit for her.

Anyway, the risk paid off. We brought Winry home and by day two the girls were a bonded pair.

So that's them, my two sweet shorthaired weirdos. They have so much personality and are both so weird in different ways. I love them.
